Anew, afresh. Considering the matter again, the same as if it had not been heard before and as if no decision had been rendered before.



When a judgment on an issue is rendered and it is reversed on error, for some mistake made by the court, in the course of the trial, a venire de novo is awarded so the case may be heard by a jury again.
